I'm Louise McCrady's daughter, THE source for ShiRRéT crochet since 1968. With Lovis and Juliet we're the third and fourth generations of Shirrét, revived in 1920 from before the Civil War. I'm a NY painter and when I'm traveling I crochet obsessively in colors. The crazy fast rhythm grounds me, helps me think and makes me feel productive.

In 1968, Louise McCrady created the name "Shirret" for the not rag rugs she and her mother taught in Ohio and Indiana in the 1920's. Dress factory foreman Katrin Hart Ent couldn't bear to waste the cabbage-rose print cotton on the cutting room floor! She made target round and oval rugs, and her daughter Louise crocheted Butterfly bedside carpets with her scraps. I add the UK-French fusion and art theory fashion to Shirret. I style Sunflower Brooches, Tibet flap hats, wraps for my shades and laptop, and Cell Cozies. My teenagers make sailor and ballerina wrist wraps, totes for drum sticks and guitar straps.

ShiRRéTAs a color specialist, I've inherited the title of curator and authority on Shirret, and I sell the supplies u need at fair prices.
